The second quarter of 2024 saw a range of performances from the top travel and local apps on the Android platform in Portugal. Below, we break down the weekly download and active user trends for the top five apps, based on data from Sensor Tower.

Booking.com: Hotels & Travel experienced a fairly consistent increase in weekly downloads, peaking at around 7K in late April. Despite a slight dip in early May, downloads rebounded to approximately 6.8K by the end of June. Active users for the app fluctuated, starting at 196K in early April, dipping slightly mid-quarter, and ending strong at nearly 198K in late June.

FlixBus: Book Bus Tickets had a more variable download pattern. Starting with about 5.7K downloads in early April, the app experienced a dip mid-month but regained momentum to reach around 5.2K by late June. Active users showed a similar trend, fluctuating throughout the quarter but maintaining an average of around 22K to 23K.

CARRISway saw a stark contrast in download numbers. The app started strong with over 10K downloads in the first week of April but saw significant drops and smaller peaks throughout the quarter, ending June with around 5.3K downloads.

Anda had an interesting download trend, starting with just over 1K downloads in early April, spiking to over 12K mid-month, and then stabilizing to around 2.9K by the end of June. This significant mid-quarter spike was the most notable movement among the top apps.

Finally, Google Earth maintained relatively stable download numbers, averaging around 2.8K to 3.3K throughout the quarter. Active users for the app showed consistency, hovering around 24K to 25K, with a slight increase toward the end of June.
